Since the summer, I knew I wanted to incorporate religion and behavior into my capstone project. Religion is such a hot topic because of its association with terrorism and politics. The media distorts religion for what it actually is, and I want to clarify the possible misconceptions of religions (all religions or non-religions, in an objective manner) so that the general public can better understand their essence and implications. The details, the what and the how, were definitely more obscure. As I have been exploring this relationship between religion and behavior, I have decided to explore more specifically the relationship between religion and economic behavior. I have briefly looked into prospect theory, a specific part of behavioral economics.
I should like to contact Dr. Prosher, a local world religions professor, as well as a few other religious persons in the coming weeks in order to better understandthe essence of different religions. I should also like to talk to a behavioral economist, a contact I want to get from Mr. McCoy. As for the presentation of this relationship, I want to do a video essay. This may prove difficult, in that I have not had experience in professional cinematography, but I do prefer amateur video making to writing a formal paper. I need to delve deeper into my research, and start researching the set-up of video essays.
